eduSoft, LC License Key Installation

The eduSoft, LC license manager program creates a simple ASCII text "key" that encodes your computer information, key expiration date, and software product information. This data is then read by the eduSoft program (hint!®, Molconn-Z, or HASL) at certain points to verify your right to use the software.

The keys are maintained in the directory /usr/eduSoft/eslc/license/ in separate files for each product. However each product can have more than one entry, e.g., for multiple computers. If there is a network license combined with one or more node licenses that have special attributes, e.g., the Daylight Toolkit option, place the node license(s) above the network license in the license file.

Notes:

New releases of eduSoft, LC software will always come with an eslc subdirectory, but the model license files (that are named with the "x." prefix) will not overwrite the active licenses.

The "key" is the text string between the '' marks in the license file description; e.g., the "key" for node demo in the license file description (below) is demo * 45 rare maroon strawberry tortes.

License for HINT 2.30S. Replace the contents of $EDUSOFT_ROOT/eslc/license/x.HintLicenseS.dat with the new license key. Rename x.HintLicenseS.dat to HintLicenseS.dat.
License for HINT 2.30I. Replace the contents of $EDUSOFT_ROOT/eslc/license/x.HintLicenseI.dat with the new license key. Rename x.HintLicenseI.dat to HintLicenseI.dat.
License for HINT 2.30C. Replace the contents of $EDUSOFT_ROOT/eslc/license/x.HintLicenseC.dat with the new license key. Rename x.HintLicenseC.dat to HintLicenseC.dat.
License for HINTLOGP 2.30 (standalone version). Replace the contents of $EDUSOFT_ROOT/eslc/license/x.HintLogPLicense.dat with the new license key. Rename x.HintLogPLicense.dat to HintLogPLicense.dat.
License for Molconn-Z 3.50S (Sybyl-interfaced version). Replace the contents of $EDUSOFT_ROOT/eslc/license/x.MConnLicenseS.dat with the new license key. Rename x.MConnLicenseS.dat to MConnLicenseS.dat.
License for Molconn-Z 3.50 (standalone version). Replace the contents of $EDUSOFT_ROOT/eslc/license/x.MolconnZLicense.dat with the new license key. Rename x.MolconnZLicense.dat to MolconnZLicense.dat.
License for HASL 4.00S. Replace the contents of $EDUSOFT_ROOT/eslc/license/x.HASLLicenseS.dat with the new license key. Rename x.HASLLicenseS.dat to HASLLicenseS.dat.
License for ZAP 1.00S. Replace the contents of $EDUSOFT_ROOT/eslc/license/x.ZapLicenseS.dat with the new license key. Rename x.ZapLicenseS.dat to ZapLicenseS.dat.
Daylight Toolkit License for HINT or Molconn-Z. Either a) copy your Daylight license to /usr/eduSoft/eslc/license/DayLicense.dat, b) link (ln -s) this file to your Daylight license, or c) change the pointers in the appropriate cshrc and/or profile file in /usr/eduSoft/eslc/lib/ to the current location of your Daylight license. If you don't have a Daylight Toolkit license and would like to "demo" the capabilities added by this feature to HINT or Molconn-Z, call us and we may be able to arrange for a demo Daylight license.
