Release Notes for HASL 4.00S

1. HASL 4.00S has been optimized to work with SYBYL 6.3+
   HASL was compiled in 3 ways:
   • Under Irix 5.3 on a R4400 SGI using the -mips1 compiler directive and the Sybyl 6.3 R3000 binary libraries for R3000+ processors
   • Under Irix 6.2 on a R4400 SGI using the -mips2 compiler directive and the Sybyl 6.4 R4000/R5000 binary libraries for R4000+ processors
   • Under Irix 6.2 on a R4400 SGI using the -n32 compiler directive and the Sybyl 6.4 R8000/R10000 binary libraries for R8000+ processors

2. The HASL manual is totally electronic. We have implemented it in "HTML" format so that it can be viewed using any HTML Web Browser, such as Mosiac or Netscape. This allows us to keep the manual totally current and flexible. As HASL is a new product there will likely be manual revisions on a regular basis. Copies of all of the HTML documents and "gifs" for the HASL 4.00S manual (current to the time at which the tape or download files were written) have been included on the distribution tape in the directory $EDUSOFT_ROOT/eslc/manuals. Note that you can examine a local document (including all local links) with Mosaic or Netscape without having Internet access: The root document is manuals.html. The original and definitive manual is maintained at http://www.eslc.vabiotech.com/hasl/manuals/400s/ and attached documents.
